What is chemical exfoliation?
Chemical exfoliants or chemical peels are facial treatments that use a topical solution to remove the damaged outer layers of skin revealing healthier, more youthful skin. Our exfoliants or peels are done right here in the center by our professional estheticians.
Why should I get a chemical exfoliation treatment?
If your skin is unevenly toned, wrinkled, spotted or scarred, chemical exfoliation is a great way to reveal smoother, younger looking skin. We offer two types: Glytone by Enerpeel and Vi Peel. Let our knowledgeable estheticians help you choose the chemical exfoliant that is right for you.
What can I expect during my chemical exfoliation treatment?
A peel procedure should take around 30 minutes depending on the type of peel and number of layers applied. During the procedure it is possible to experience a possible tingling, heating, and itching sensation. This is completely normal and temporary and it means the peel is doing its job! You are always welcome to use our cooling device to help alleviate any discomfort. After the acid is neutralized, these symptoms should stop, and if you follow post care procedures, you will begin to experience the benefits of the peel!
What should I expect after my treatment?
Every chemical exfoliation procedure will cause some degree of flaking or peeling with varying amounts of redness and tightness post-procedure. The degree and duration of flaking, peeling, and redness are dependent upon the peel’s acid strength and type. Peeling or flaking does not always occur and regardless, you still will achieve optimal results. All peel procedures will cause sensitivity to heat and sun for several days. It is critical to the success of the peel that you comply with post procedure care requirements including wearing sunscreen. We recommend a series of peels with a resting time of four to six weeks between each peel.
